The above photo was taken a few days ago in Haiti. This man was seen walking down the street and on his back he was carrying a Compassion Services International bag that had been handed out nearly three years ago.
On January 12, 2010 a 7.0 magnitude earthquake devastated the country of Haiti. Haiti is the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere where most people live on less than $2.00 per day. Millions were left homeless and in need of emergency aid in the aftermath of this tragedy.
CSI was in Haiti with provisions, medical teams and construction personnel less than two weeks after the earthquake hit. Our first team was on the ground within 48 hours of the earthquake. Compassion Services International has the staff and infrastructure to mobilize volunteers stateside and to distribute aid to the point of need anyplace in the world. The photo below is one of the first CSI teams to arrive in Haiti after the earthquake.CSI is excited to be sending another team to Haiti this summer. The team is leaving on June 29, 2012. While in Haiti, the team will be conducting medical clinics, visiting two orphanages and distributing humanitarian aid bags while sharing the love of Jesus Christ. We thank you for partnering with us in prayer and with your financial donations. We truly couldn’t do it without your support. We look forward to sharing new pictures and stories with you while we are in Haiti this summer. You can learn more and support our effort by visiting http://www.compassionservices.org
